Happy New Year
I'm don't believe in New Year's resolutions, so I try to set intentions instead. (Inspired in part by NY Times New Year's "Well Challenge" This year, I intend to manage my time better. The end result? Getting more meaningful things done, like entering art competitions, and wasting less time on social media and drudgery. Who needs to have a clean house anyway? As the mother of a toddler, it's all about picking and choosing more consciously how I spend my time.
With that said, I'd love to enter more art competitions and do more 'serious' paintings. I also want to indulge more in painting for myself, which is why you may see a lot more abstracts coming out of my studio. I love the watercolor medium and how, if you let it, it will paint itself. There's no better way to let that happen than by creating juicy abstracts.
To make my intentions more concrete, I've written down a daily theme - for example, I work on my website and online stores on Monday, I work on commissions on Tuesday, I work on abstracts Wednesday, etc. So, without further ado, here are a few things I'm working on...
